***This is a repeat of our Intro to Modular Synths workshop on June 30th. Please do not RSVP for this if you attended the first one ***
Join PLAG Workshops on August 19th as we team up with Make Noise, artist Bana Haffar, and Bedrock LA again to do another introduction to modular synths. Take a break from the Echo Park Rising shows to learn a little bit.
Using Make Noise’s 0-COAST, Bana will walk you through what modular synths are, how to get started with them, and leave you with enough skill to continue building on your own.

http://bit.ly/PLAGxMakeNoise2This workshop is strictly limited to 10 attendees. RSVP here before 6:00pm on Wednesday, August 8th and we will randomly select 10 people from the registrations. Attendees will need to pay a $20 refundable deposit if selected. Your $20 will be returned to you on the date of the workshop if you attend. If this is cost prohibitive for you, please reach out to info@plagpresents.com. We do not want to price anyone out of knowledge.
We are honored to have Bana Haffar leading this workshop: Bana Haffar is an artist who explores live modular synthesizer performance. Prior to switching over to synthesizers, she played bass professionally in Los Angeles, as a touring and session musician. She began using eurorack format modular synthesizers in 2014, having had no prior knowledge of synthesis. Through modular synthesis, Bana is attempting to dismantle years of institutional ‘conditioning’ in traditional systems of music theory and rediscover sound. Haffar is also the co-creator of Modular on the Spot, a monthly outdoor synth happening that began on the Los Angeles river and has since spread to many cities across the United States.
We'd also like to extend a HUGE thank you to Bedrock LA for donating their space to us for the afternoon. Please give them a shout for your recording and rehearsal space needs.
