Axel Mansoor

Singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Axel Mansoor has lived in 5 different countries across 4 continents but currently calls Los Angeles home. He believes that flaws are one of the most important aspects of a person. The contrast they create makes us who we are; from our flaws, our strengths arise. It comes as no surprise that his music is more than just catchy indie pop. Following in the footsteps of artists like John Mayer, James Bay, and James Blake, Mansoor sings, writes, produces and plays guitar on all nearly of his songs. The music features themes of transformation and self-love, and one of the underlying messages is the realization that you don’t need to rely on others to feel validated.

Authentic, bold, and honest, “Wasted My Love” marked a vibrant 2017 debut for Axel. The single reached #5 on Spotify’s US Viral 50 chart, received radio play from Jason Kramer of KCRW and garnered praise from several influential music blogs. Follow-up “Out of My Head” also garnered recognition across the online music community topping Hype Machine's Popular chart and earning spots on Spotify’s coveted New Music Friday playlists. 2017 also saw Mansoor release “Wasted My Love (Remixed)”, “Hit Rewind”, a collaboration with producer Louis Vivet, and December single “Talk To Me” which was accompanied by a vertical music video premiered on BuzzFeed's Snapchat Discover channel. Adding to his growing list of accolades, in April 2018, Mansoor received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Song in a Drama for an original composition written for ABC’s General Hospital.

In the summer of 2018, Mansoor stripped down to his roots and delivered his debut EP in the form of a 5-song collection of raw and intimate acoustic recordings. Following a unique release cycle, he shared a new song every week for five weeks. The EP was entirely self-produced in Mansoor’s home studio on Somerset Drive in central Los Angeles, so it was aptly titled Somerset. With more even music coming this fall, Axel Mansoor isn’t stopping his quest to create genuine and emotion-driven music on his own terms.
